Dana White Responds to Strikeforce Contracts Controversy

Publish date:

UFC president Dana White responded to reports of Dave Meltzer saying there are contracts with certain Strikeforce fighters that would keep them from entering the UFC. As you can expect, White responded in his typical fashion.

"idk wtf melzers problem is! Has this guy lost his mind? This is absolutely not true! Dave has lost his mind!! Now he is just making (expletive) up," White wrote in response to a question asked by a member of The Underground.

Meltzer reported on a recent radio interview that fighters such as Luke Rockhold, Ronda Rousey and Gilbert Melendez were barred from signing with the UFC for as long as Showtime televises MMA.

Zuffa, which purchased Strikeforce last year, resigned to televise the promotion on Showtime. At the time, many reports of certain fighters not being allowed to sign with the UFC came about. Showtime's interest seemed to be in not letting Strikeforce become a "minor league" feeding system to the UFC.
