Dana White on Eddie Alvarez: "We're Definitely Interested in Him"
Dana White said that Eddie Alvarez (42-3) had been under the UFC's radar for quite a bit. Alvarez recently fulfilled his final contracted fight for Bellator earlier in the week.
"Eddie Alvarez's contract is up, we're gonna talk to him soon," said White. "We're definitely interested in him and we have been for a while."
Alvarez was a former Bellator Lightweight Champion who had been with the company since their inception in 2009. He was 9-1 for them. He ended his last two fights within the first round.
White tweeted Alvarez right after his recent win looking to talk. In the past, White has said that he thinks Bellator plays dirty when it comes to contracts so the UFC is waiting to contact him.
"I don't know what the stipulations on his contract are, whether we can talk to him now or there's more time," said White. "We'll dive in and we'll see what happens."
