Cung Le vs. Rich Franklin to Headline UFC on FUEL TV 6?
If UFC president Dana White has anything to say about it, Cung Le will step back inside the Octagon later this year to meet Rich Franklin. The UFC is hoping to have the two meet in the main event of UFC on FUEL TV 6 from Macau, China.
"If Cung fights in China, it'll be against Rich Franklin," said White, during Thursday's post-fight press conference for UFC 149: Faber vs. Barao.
The two were expected to meet earlier this year, but injuries forced Franklin (29-6) to take on Wanderlei Silva. Le (8-2) went on to fight Patrick Cote, and both men claimed victories.
While Le has stated he might need time to heal up, and always has his movie career to worry about as well, White is pushing hard for him to take the bout. The show is set for November 10 inside the Cotai Arena. It will mark the first UFC event in China.
