Fantasy owners who started Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant this week were very, very encouraged by the dominance the second-year player showed early on. He was proving to be the man-amongst-boys that the Cowboys thought he was when they drafted him in the first round last year.
But he got banged up on a first-quarter punt return and hobbled around for the rest of the game. He clearly was not right. We were originally told it was cramping, but Rob Phillips of DallasCowboys.com says it’s more than just that.
“Dez apparently bruised his quad on that early punt return. Said it was a little tight but treatment will help. Also cramping during game,” he tweets.
It’s not expected to keep him out of Week 2, but it should be monitored. Injuries are probably the single biggest issue facing Dez right now. When healthy, he just destroys people.
