College Football Recruiting: South Carolina Lands Ronnie Martin

Publish date: caught up with the coach of former Gamecock signee Ronnie Martin and spoke to him about where Martin stands with his recruitment.

Martin's coach, Freddie Brown, talked to Martin last week and confirms that he wants to be at South Carolina. Martin had to enroll at Georgia Military College after failing to gain eligibility after signing with South Carolina in 2011. Brown indicated that Martin is on track to graduate from the JUCO school in Georgia and will enroll at South Carolina in January of 2013.

Martin is originially from Spartanburg High School where he was a three-star cornerback who ran in the 4.4's in the 40-yard dash. The article linked above mentioned that Martin has added weight but been able to keep the speed his 5'11" frame.

Other schools interested in Martin out of high school were LSU, Illinois, Maryland, Nebraska and Wake Forest.

This is considered the 20th commitment for the Gamecocks in the class of 2013.
