Brandon Golson's long journey to the University of South Carolina appears set.
Golson committed to South Carolina today to become the Gamecocks' 15th commitment in the class of 2013. Golson is currently enrolled at Georgia Military College, which is a junior college school, and should be enrolled at USC in January.
You may remember Golson's long story of how he signed with South Carolina, was denied admissions, enrolled at Louisville, flagged by the NCAA and unable to attend Louisville, tried to enroll at Gray Military Academy, then finally ended up at Georgia Military College.
If that sounds like a lot of up's and down's, it is.
Golson was a prep star at Calhoun County with his incredible pass rushing ability and racked up the sack totals his senior year with 30 sacks. His ability to get to the quarterback wasn't hindered at GMC and ended up with seven sacks and 24 tackles. He's a guy that is a playmaker at the linebacker position and should step right in for the Gamecocks. He currently weighs 230 pounds.
Golson has three years to play two and chose South Carolina over interest from Kansas, Tennessee and Middle Tennessee State.
Another quality pickup for the Gamecocks and good to see a story of determination like Golson's end up on a good note with him returning to the Gamecocks.
