College Baseball Recruiting: South Carolina Lands Cody Mincey, Cole McMillan, Brock Maxwell

New South Carolina head baseball coach Chad Holbrook is killing it on the recruiting trail.

The Gamecocks added four commitments in recent days, three for the class of 2013 and one for the class of 2014.

The three recruits for the class of 2013 are:

  1. RHP Cody Mincey - Spartanburg Methodist Junior College
  2. LHP Cole McMillan - Lexington High School
  3. OF/RHP Brock Maxwell - Lambert High School

The one recruit for the class of 2014 is:

  1. INF Jared Williams - Gilbert High School

Brock Maxwell, according to, has a fastball that reached 88 miles per hour while also being a very intriguing left-handed batter. Cole McMillan, the left-hander from Lexington, has a fastball clocked at 85 miles per hour. 2014 recruit Jared Williams is listed at 5'8" tall and weighing 150 pounds. He appears to have the ability to play second base, shortstop and third base.

Cody Mincey went 5-2 last season in 42.2 innings pitched with 37 strikeouts to just nine walks. His ERA was 2.74. He picked up two saves while allowing only 13 earned runs in those innings pitched. South Carolina has 17 commitments for the class of 2013 while they have seven for the class of 2014.

It looks like things won't miss a beat under head coach Chad Holbrook.
