Clemson wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins had a really great game on Saturday. Against what was supposed to be a relatively solid Auburn defense, somehow, Hopkins racked up 119 yards and a touchdown on 13 receptions.
A school record.
As people were looking back on the weekend that was in college football, they couldn't help but wonder what brought on Hopkins’ record-breaking performance. Did Clemson call better plays for him? Did he run his routes more efficiently? Was it something in Auburn’s defense that he was exploited?
No, no and no.
The reason Hopkins was able to do what he did on Saturday was because God showed him the way. Via Yahoo! Sports:
According to a tweet from Clemson's wide receivers coach Jeff Scott, receiver DeAndre Hopkins was baptized in one of the Rubbermaid tubs that the team uses for ice baths in front of his teammates following practice.
Well, that explains it.
