After 764 rumors circulated the web and other media outlets, it seems we finally have one that will stand pat. According to a person with knowledge of the situation, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh will become teammates in the city of Miami.
This latest rumor is being reported by ESPN’s Chris Broussard and also ESPN’s Shelley Smith, but it actually has been reported by OTR on a consistent basis for the last couple months. Just check out our archives.
Wade and Bosh are expected to announce their decision on Wednesday, also known as today, according to the source.
A couple things still remain unseen. Will Bosh join the Heat via sign-and-trade or will he just sign. If Toronto and Miami elect the sign-and-trade option, Bosh could earn $125 million over six years, rather than signing for $96 million over five.
And, will Lebron James join them as well? That will not be known until Thursday night when James makes his announcement. The announcement will most likely be a three-hour show beginning with a circus parade and ending with a fireworks display. Lebron needs all the attention he can get. Unfortunately, he can’t attract attention with any kind of bling on his finger like Dwyane and Kobe can.
