Chicago Bears RB Chester Taylor has been generally a very good running back in the NFL when he’s not throwing chairs at teammates. But, this year, he gave the Bears next to nothing…..and they paid him $7 million for it.
It isn’t just that Taylor was bad this year, it’s that he set a record for being bad. Let’s be honest, any time a running back (who gets a decent amount of playing time) gets 2.38 yards per carry, it’s shit. Total shit. But, Taylor’s 267 yards on 112 carries is the worst performance of any running back since the merger with at least 100 carries.
And keep in mind that Matt Forte ran behind the same line and his production increased this year. He topped 1,000 yards for the second time in his lengthy three-year career.
Any chance the Bears keep Taylor after this year? I can’t imagine that’s the case. Taylor is will be 32-years old in September and it looks like his running abilities are much older than that.
