Carlos Tevez Leads Manchester City Past Chelsea

For over an hour it looked like it was not to be. A bright start from City produced nothing and Chelsea pushed their way back into the game for the remainder of the opening half. Trailing rivals Manchester City by four points and scoreless at halftime left all the pressure heaped on City's shoulders.

Things got worse when Chelsea grabbed a goal out of nothing early in the second half. A corner kick was deflected in the City penalty area before falling to Gary Cahill who shinned a ball at goal. The shot took a slight deflection and wrong-footed Joe Hart who could only watch as the ball dribbled across the goal line.

The home crowd was in shock from falling behind as Carlos Tevez made his debut. Manchester City were turning up the pressure, but not producing in the final third. That is until a long corner kick ended up with Zabaleta hitting a high volley that looked to be going well high. The ball struck Essien in the arm and a penalty was awarded rightfully so.

Sergio Aguero slotted home the spot kick and the match was even. The match sprung to life as Manchester City surged forward looking for the winner.

Just minutes from time City found the winner and it would be courtesy of a wonderful combination between Tevez and Sami Nasri. The tight 1-2 at the top of the area sprung Nasri who flicked into the corner of the net and set off wild celebrations.

A monster comeback for Manchester City who keep their EPL title hopes on track.
