There was a decent amount of hype building up this pre-season around Arizona Cardinals rookie RB Ryan Williams. But, it looks like that hype is going to have to wait another year.
According to head coach Ken Whisenhunt, Williams “probably” has a torn patellar tendon. For a coach to say that, it is probably definite.
Williams was carted off the field during Friday night’s preseason game. It’s a pretty safe bet that his season is done and possibly his career. He’s only 21-years old though and one would hope that he’s ready to go by next training camp. But, if he never gets his burst back it won’t matter.
For fantasy football, this means that Beanie Wells will get just about all the carries. Still, why do I have such little interest in drafting him?
