Brian Stann is Ready for Anything Michael Bisping Might Throw at Him

Brian Stann knows that his upcoming fight at UFC 152: Jones vs. Belfort is critical for the progression of his career. Stann will face Michael Bisping on the main card, and both middleweights believe a win over the other positions themselves nicely in the division.

Stann is a former WEC champion, but he was unable to withstand the relentless attack of Chael Sonnen last year, falling via second round submission to halt a three-fight win streak. Stann (12-4) got back on track with a recent win over Alessio Sakara.

"This is a huge fight for the 185-pound division," Stann said. "It is not going to end well for (Bisping). He's been at this longer than I have, but he has his weaknesses and I think when I land on his chin, it will be the beginning of a very bad night for him."

Along with knocking out Sakara, Stann owns eight other KO victories in his career. He's finished Jorge Santiago, Chris Leben and Mike Massenzio since 2010, but does understand that Bisping is a major step up in competition. Bisping is also known as one of the best trash-talkers in all of MMA, and Stann knows this, as well.

"Mike is very intelligent, very quick (witted) and he knows exactly what he's doing when he says these things," Stann said. "If you look at the guys in major sports who all earn life-altering money, they are almost all loud and talk a little trash. It is all part of Mike's routine and - great. It doesn't affect me at all, and one of the reasons I wanted to fight him is because beating Michael Bisping means something. It means something because when he fights, people care because he has this way of talking fights up."
