Brandon Vera Gets Defensive About Mauricio "Shogun" Rua's Performance
Brandon Vera had only been at the post-fight press conference for UFC on Fox: Shogun Vs. Vera for a short time before he got upset. After a reporter asked Vera's foe, Mauricio "Shogun" Rua about looking tired, "The Truth" snapped.
"You're acting like I wasn't pushing the pace, get off that bro," said Vera, who lost by knockout to Rua in the main event.
Rua stormed after Vera early and often, but Vera didn't wilt until the fourth. "Shogun" was hoping to secure himself another shot at the UFC light heavyweight title, but that honor went to Lyoto Machida.
Vera rocked Rua with several big strikes and kicks, but was unable to take advantage of a tired Rua. UFC president Dana White did confirm that Vera will remain in the company, adding that it was the "Stupid question of the year," when asked by a reporter at the post-fight press conference.
