Sure Blake Griffin would love to be playing in the 2011 NBA Playoffs, but don’t think for one second that not being in the playoffs means he’s laying low. Griffin is using his recent fame to his advantage, racking up the endorsement/sponsorship opportunities.
Liz Mullen of Sports Business Journal is reporting that Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin has signed an agreement with Vizio—producer of consumer electronics. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Vizio is planning on using Griffin in various media channels.
With the deal, Vizio becomes the most recent addition to Griffin’s ever growing list of endorsement opportunities. Griffin has worked with Subway, AT&T, Kia, Nike, and PowerBar, just to name a few.
Excel Sports Management—Griffin’s marketing and contract representation company—is certainly capitalizing on Griffin’s inspiring rookie campaign. Griffin taking home the 2011 NBA Rookie of the Year Award later this week will only help their ability to market him.
