According to SportsByBrooks the Black Eyed Peas will be performing at halftime of the 2011 NFL Super Bowl in Dallas.
Apparently, the league got tired of stealing their performers from the local senior citizen homes and decided to return to a more modern feel for the first time since the infamous 2004 show where Janet Jackson accidently kind of, sort of, flashed the world. Since then, the NFL has brought out acts like The Rolling Stones, The Who, Prince and Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers (still no clue who those guys are) to compensate for the stir and excitement a painted breast that nobody could even see caused.
The Black Eyed Peas have had a long-standing relationship with the NFL and have performed the 2005 Super Bowl pre-game show, and the 2009 season kickoff special.
Composed of rappers will.i.am, apl.de.ap, Taboo and Fergie this band has been very successful over the past two years. Their 2009 album, “The E.N.D.” included three songs that topped the Billboard 100 charts at some point in “Boom Boom Pow,” I Gotta Feeling” and “I’mma Be.” The Black Eyed Peas have won six Grammy Awards, including four for Best Pop Perofrmance by a Duo or Group.
This performance has not yet been confirmed by the league.
