Bjorn Rebney Has Big Plans for New Bellator Reality Show

As Bellator gets closer to 2013, it means a larger audience for the company that has been airing solely on MTV2. Come January, the show moves to the UFC's former network, Spike TV. To go along with their regular fight card, Bellator has been preparing a reality based show similar to The Ultimate Fighter (TUF).

"There are some wickedly good pros on this show," said Bjorn Rebny to MMA Junkie. "I think we have the greatest collection of talent that's ever been on a reality show in this genre."

One major difference between TUF and Bellator's reality show will be a detailed look into each fighter. Producer Bertram van Munster, from CBS' Emmy-winning "The Amazing Race," will be filming that part of the show.

"It'll be very true to what we're about," said Rebney. "It will be good storytelling, and a lot of focus on who the fighters are and what they're about."

Tryouts were recently open for lightweight and welterweight fighters. To be considered eligible, one must have a minimum of three fights to their name and have a winning percentage higher then half.

The show will start filming in January or early February with the location being narrowed to two unknown cities. More information would be revealed the coming weeks according to Rebney.
