The Toronto Raptors have surprised many people this year and currently sit in third place of the Eastern Conference with a 26-14 record. One supporter, Justin Bieber, believes Kyle Lowrie deserves to be in the All-Star game and showed his support on twitter Monday.
"Toronto has been killin it and @Klow7 deserves to be an nba all star," Bieber tweeted. "Make sure to vote for him. #WeTheNorth. Good luck buddy."
The problem? Well, this year fans all over the world can vote for their favorite players through Twitter and other social media, but Bieber didn’t follow directions and has wasted close to 40 thousand votes—since retweets also count. He forgot to use the mandatory #NBABALLOT hashtag in order for his vote and all the retweets to count.
Despite losing all of these 40 thousand votes on the last day of voting, Lowrie might make it anyway. He was named the Eastern Conference’s player of the month in December, and he is averaging 19.8 points, 4.9 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game.
The voting ended Jan. 19 and the starters will be announced Jan. 22. The All-Stat game will take place Sunday, Feb. 15 in New York City.
