Benson Henderson Seems at Ease Heading into the Nate Diaz Fight

UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson will make his second title defense this December when he tackles Nate Diaz in the main event of UFC On Fox: Henderson Vs. Diaz. The card takes place in Seattle.

Henderson recently defended his belt for the first time by scoring a decision victory over Frankie Edgar. The outcome of the bout was hotly-contested by MMA fans, and "Smooth" has heard all about it.

"You can be Michael Jordan, you can be, literally, one of the best athletes, the best basketball player on the planet, and have people not like you," said Henderson, during a recent interview with "You can win a record number of Olympic gold medals, you can win 12 Olympic gold medals, and you're still going to have a ton of people who dislike you. That's the nature, I guess, of having the spotlight shined on you."

Henderson's first fight on Fox went untelevised, as his bout with Clay Guida was part of the prelims. Now, he'll main event the card, just a short drive from where he grew up.

"To go back and say now, on the next UFC on Fox, to know I'm going to make the air, to have it be in Seattle in KeyArena - 20 minutes from my hometown, 20 minutes from where I graduated high school - to be the main event, I'm very excited," Henderson said. "I'm very at ease in my soul to make up for the last time."
