People that took Houston Texans RB Arian Foster in this year’s fantasy draft have to be pretty pissed. Truth is, if you took him high around Labor Day, you have no one to blame but yourself. You knew about the hamstring injury, but you just couldn’t lay off of him.
Surely, people thought Foster would be back and running by Week 3 against the Saints, right? Well, it’s not looking good according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle.
“Arian Foster didn’t practice today. I expect Ben Tate to get his first start. I think Steve Slaton will be the backup for the Saints,” McClain tweets.
This is bad for a variety of reasons. First, it doesn’t look like Foster will play. But, perhaps more importantly, it’s giving Ben Tate a chance to shine. And if he plays well, even when Foster comes back, we’ll probably be hearing the “C” word. And you didn’t draft Foster in the first round for him to be part of a committee.
