Gabriel Muniz, an 11-Year-Old with No Feet, Gets Invited to Play Soccer with Barcelona (Video)

You often hear about the really bad sports stories. The sex scandals. The money problems. The selfishness. The egos. The all too frequent rags-to-riches-back-to-rags tales.

But there are a lot of good stories in sports, too. They don’t get as much shine because they’re not as salacious, but that doesn’t mean they’re not out there.

Case in point: what Barcelona FC did for 11-year-old Gabriel Muniz.

Muniz, an avid sports fan, was born with no feet. Despite that, he learned to walk at age one and has expressed a certain level of enthusiasm for playing soccer. Recently, after his story appeared on a Brazilian TV show, the powers that be at Barcelona invited him to train with the team.

Again, this story won’t get as much publicity as Athlete X’s bankruptcy or Athlete Y’s domestic violence case, but that doesn’t mean it’s not out there.

It’s out there.

You just have to want to see it.
