Atlanta Falcons Win NFC South

It was a good week for the Falcons. On Thursday, Atlanta beat its divisional rival in a hard fought game and then on Sunday they clinched the division despite not playing.

On September 17th, The Falcons beat the Denver Broncos by six points. On December 2nd, the Denver Broncos would finish their sweep of the rest of the NFL South by beating the Tampa Bay Bucs 31-23. This win helped the Broncos clinch the AFC West, but more importantly for Atlanta fans, it helped the Falcons clinch the NFC South.

The Falcons now look toward the top playoff spot in the NFC and home field advantage throughout the playoffs. As it stands, the Falcons have a two and a half game lead on the San Fransisco 49ers (8-3-1).
