The Atlanta Falcons and New York Giants face off on Sunday in a very important game for both teams. The Falcons are looking to cement their spot in the playoffs by taking another step towards home field advantage. The Giants are looking to stay one step ahead of their divisional foes.
Here are some predictions from the Grits Blitz crew:
Eric: The Falcons have a great track record under Mike Smith coming off losses, and at home in general. Considering how the D has stepped up against elite QBs in the Dome this year (Manning the Elder, Romo & Brees), I feel like they'll do the same here. I like the Falcons in a low scoring affair, 20 17. Vegas has this as a Pick 'Em, which tells me it'll be a lot closer than the National Media would want us to believe.
Kevin: I think Vegas got this one right when they called it a pick 'em. Look for this to be a close, hard fought game and I like the Falcons chances in games like that. Look for the offensive line to have a much better game (not great, but passable) and to give Ryan a little bit of time to get the ball to where he wants to go with it. Give me the Falcons 24-23 on a last second Matt Bryant field goal.
Matt: Quite the game with two similar NFC teams, both dealing with their struggling offenses and frustratingly inconsistent defenses. Atlanta should bounce back from their embarrassing show last week to just edge out the Giants in an offensive shoot out thanks to home field advantage. Falcons need to get their offense back in stride not only to beat out Eli Manning but also to get us ready for a playoff run. Atlanta makes up for their playoff loss by winning 34-31.
