Peter Konz, Charles Mitchell, Bradie Ewing and Matt Hanson were among the names that made some noise during day one of the Atlanta Falcons rookie camp on Friday. When asked about day two, Mike Smith said it was too early to call out any standouts but said that he liked the overall energy. Let's take a look around the web at some of the guys who garnered press in day two:
Day 2 of Falcons rookie minicamp provided a little insight to one of the newest additions to the franchise. Jonathan Massaquoi has dropped 15 pounds since his 2011 season at Troy, and that’s the way Mike Smith planned it.
Dominique Davis showed some skill under center. He was making solid throws with nice touch on the ball at times. At 6'3", 210 lbs. he has good size and what looked like a decent arm. No. 3 QB?
In case you missed we did a profile of Davis here.
Falcons coach Mike Smith said that Dominique Franks and Harry Douglas are candidates for the vacant punt-return job. He noted that several players on the roster have returned kickoffs. Wide receivers Cody Pearcy, James Rodgers and Marcus Jackson have been catching punts at the rookie minicamp.
