The David Haye/Klitschko brothers saga rumbles on as Haye’s trainer Adam Booth has claimed the Ukrainian siblings aren’t interested in fighting, rather they are simply using his fighter’s name for publicity.
Haye was woeful in losing his WBA crown to Wladimir last July and although retiring in October as planned, Vitali has expressed a desire to get the Brit out of retirement so he can beat him too.
Talks between the two camps took place late last year but nothing has come of them so far, and with Vitali defending his WBC crown against Dereck Chisora in February it seems unlikely a fight will take place until later this year if at all.
“Vitali piped up saying he wants to fight and since then I have had communication with them, but the contract from them has been much less forthcoming than the propaganda Vitali has been spouting.
“It’s in their hands. As far as I am concerned all the points have been agreed verbally, but subsequently Vitali came out and said the fight was “miles away” from being made. I don’t understand why he would say that. Maybe they are just using David’s name just to get some publicity.”
