Andy Murray Gives Emotional Speech After Losing to Roger Federer at Wimbledon (Video)


Losing the Wimbledon final under any circumstances is a heartbreaking, painful thing. Losing the Wimbledon final when you’re trying to become the first British man to win the tournament in 76 years is about as tragic as it gets in competitive sports.

On Sunday, Andy Murray fell to Roger Federer in largely unspectacular fashion. Not too long after many tennis aficionados deemed him done, the 37-year-old Federer took down 25-year-old Murray 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, 6-4.

After their match, Murray offered these emotional words of congratulations to his opponent:

With his victory on Sunday, Federer earned his seventh Wimbledon title and his 17th Grand Slam title.
