The College Football regular season is over, minus the playing of the Army/Navy game on Saturday. The final BCS rankings were released, and the Auburn Tigers and Oregon Ducks will meet on Jan. 10 in Arizona for the BCS Championship game.
There was the possibility for a complete BCS shake up over the weekend given the fact that both the Tigers and Ducks were playing. But both teams handled their business. For Auburn it was a sound victory in the Southeastern conference championship game over South Carolina. For Oregon, a 17-point victory over arch-rival Oregon State.
Subsequently, the BCS selection show was relatively drama-free, unlike in some years past. There is no argument as to who should be playing for the national championship, even with the fact that three teams finished undefeated. For No.3 TCU, a trip to the Rose Bowl is about as good as they could have hope for being the the first team on the outside of the BCS rankings looking in.
Prior to the playing of the national championship however, 34 other bowl games will be played between Dec. 18 and Jan 9. In total, 70 teams were invited to 35 bowl games to represent their school and conference.
The Bowl season will open up on Dec. 18 with the New Mexico Bowl in a battle between BYU and UTEP and then conclude with the BCS Championship game between No.1 Auburn and No.2 Oregon.
Early College Football betting lines have not yet been set for the 34 bowl games leading up to the national championship, but Auburn has been set as a tentative 3.5-point favorite on several online sportsbooks, with the over/under at 75 points. With over a month remaining until the two square off though, it is likely that fluctuation in that betting line will occur.
For the rest of the bowl games, betting lines should be formulate soon, with online sportsbooks such as Bodog and BetUs to field a variety of wagers with respect to the spread, over/under as well as prop betting lines.
