According to multiple reports, an 8-year-old New York Jets fan was brutally tackled by a drunk, angry Cleveland Browns fan after the Jets beat the Browns 26-20 on Sunday.
The boy and his family were exiting the stadium after the game when Clevelanders noticed the boy’s Jets jersey. They reportedly began to hurl food and obscenities at them, and then one particularly dumb Browns fan took it to a whole other level.
"As he was walking, holding my son's hand, a guy from behind tackled him," the mother told the reporters. "A drunken Browns fan tackled him and pulled him out of his dad's hand. He was on the ground crying."
The boy escaped the incident with bruises, scratches and a horrible memory.
"My husband asked him, 'Did you have a good time?' He said 'Yes.' He said 'Would you want to go back sometime?' And he said 'No, I don't like Browns Stadium.' Who could blame him?" the boy's mother said.
Browns vice president of media relations, Neal Gulkis, called the incident “unfortunate” and said that the team would look into it. However, he then pointed out that the parking lot technically wasn’t the team’s problem, and it should really be looked at by the city of Cleveland.
