Jameis Winston, who everyone expects to be drafted No. 1 overall in the 2015 NFL draft, is leaning towards not attending the draft, and instead, wants to be in his Alabama home with family and friends.
It is unusual for someone who is expected to go so early not to be there to receive his jersey, but Winston may feel more better in the comfort of his home and family than wearing a suit and tie.
Winston’s father told ESPN.com’s David Hale that although the plan is for his son to be at home, that the plan is “not set in stone.”
Winston is projected to go first overall to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in most experts’ eyes, but if the plan stays as it is, he will not be shaking Roger Goodell’s hand in Chicago April 30.
