With the LVH SuperContest gaining popularity and hitting record numbers this year, the money experts at RotoExperts have decided to lend a helping hand. Each week, All in Kid (Jake Ciely) and Streak Master (Adam Zdroik) will provide their top five spread picks for the week of NFL action.
The official lines that we will go off of can be found at the LVH site.
All In Kid:
It was a decent opening week with ATL, HOU, CHI, BAL all covering (gotta go ALL IN early in the season), but I fell short of a perfect start by Carolina’s pitiful effort.
I understand they disappointed last week against the Redskins, but didn’t I just mention Carolina lost to Tampa Bay in poor fashion? Yep, thought so. I think New Orleans is looking to run this one up.
I’m confused by this one. Did Vegas not see Philly’s effort against Cleveland? Do they not realize DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin are hobbled? Do they not like the new Baltimore offense? Did the data entry guy hit “+” instead of “-“?
Miami stinks! No, seriously, I just caught a whiff up here in Virginia Beach. Thank goodness LeBron brought that city a title because that football team has no prayer… for a while.
They’re going to the Super Bowl! Oh wait, that was just the fans’ reactions after the opening win. Okay, still, they are significantly better than Seattle. No question there.
Call me crazy, or maybe I’m just drunk on the Peyton Manning Kool Aid (tastes awkwardly funny and good), but I think Denver should keep this very close and potentially win.
While we didn’t post our picks last week, I still logged mine and grabbed a 3-2 record (NE, PHI, TB, SEA, DEN) to start the week. Obviously, every week you hope for five wins, but not many had a more successful Week 1.
The Bucs aren’t that bad and the Giants looked terrible last week. More than a TD? Come on.
Sure, AP is back, but this is Andrew Luck’s first game at home. The Vikings are not a good team on the road and Ponder will prove it. The Colts will be pumped and ready to get their first win.
Is it me or is everyone overrating the Redskins and RG3? The Rams actually have a tougher defense than the Saints and will cause problems. The Rams will use a more balanced attack than the Saints and win.
Maybe the Steelers will win, but it won’t be by much. They didn’t look good against the Broncos and the Jets looked fantastic. It’ll be a close, hard fought game.
The Titans lost at home to the Patriots by 21 points. How are they going to come closer AT San Diego? The Chargers defense looked tough and will cause problems for the Titans offense all game.
