Worthy is scheme diverse. I’ll let him play in any system that he wants to. He can get through the holes fast and with ease. Jerel has a quick step move that seems as if he’s going to fight contact with the offensive tackle and then a quick kick in move that catches the interior lineman off guard.
He sells the stunt plays well. He can clog the middle if he needs to or he can penetrate. When he’s matched nose to nose with his opponent he gets a quick lift and then shifts to the way of the action. Worthy can also adjust to cut blocks quickly an avoid them. He’s highly effective when he gets underneath for a bull rush and if he knows he isn’t going to get to the quarterback he takes away his passing lanes by getting his hands up. Lastly, Worthy moves great laterally down the line avoiding traffic, to stuff the run.
Jerel tends to get caught up in the battle at times and loses focus on the ball movement. He also tends to miss open shots in the backfield after winning up front. Worthy needs to keep focus on the action while battling and when the opportunity presents itself, he has to finish the play. He can’t keep shooting high in his tackles.
He has to keep his focus and bring the same intensity for every play / game. To that note, he’s good for at least one offsides a game, or so it seems.
- DT, Michigan State, Jr.

- Wt: 305
- 40 time: 5.04
Worthy can come in and contribute as a rookie right out of the gates. He’s quick, diverse, and developed. I don’t see any other prospect being able to do what he does. There’s no one else in this defensive tackle class that I would mention on the same level as Worthy. If I’m a defensive minded coach in need of a defensive lineman, I’m drafting Worthy. He will be successful in any system.
