#8 UTAH JAZZ 83 @ #1 SAN ANTONIO SPURS 114
WEST 1st Round * Game 2 * Spurs lead series, 2-0
I think the score pretty much speaks for itself. Tony Parker couldn't be stopped. The 3-pointers were going in for the Spurs (Spurs made 10 compared to Utah's 1). Spurs were moving the ball around beautifully (28 assists). Utah only scored 17 in the first and only 11 in the second. Basically, it was over by halftime.
Parker led seven Spurs in double figures with 18 points. Josh Howard and Al Jefferson led the Jazz in scoring with merely... 10 points. This game was entertaining if you liked train wrecks.
#3 INDIANA PACERS 97 @ #6 ORLANDO MAGIC 74
EAST 1st Round * Game 3 * Pacers leads series, 2-1
Big Baby, once again, kept the Magic close. He was making everything in the 2nd quarter as he scored 16 points in that period.
Then the Pacers took control in the 3rd. Roy Hibbert scored 10 of his 22 points in that quarter. Indiana outscored Orlando, 32-17, in that 3rd. The Magic never got it going after that.
Danny Granger came back strong with 26 points. Hibbert added 3 blocks to his 22 points. Glen Davis ended up with 22 points for the Magic.
#5 LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS 98 @ #4 MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES 105
WEST 1st Round * Game 2 * Series tied at 1-1
The Clippers shot well (nearly 57 percent) but rebounding, turnovers, and O.J. Mayo killed them. Grizzlies won the rebounding battle, 37-28. The Grizzlies are the best at forcing turnovers... and the Clippers gave it away 20 times. And O.J. came off the bench to score 20 points (10 in the 4th), making timely jumpers whenever the Clippers got close.
Another key? The Grizzlies punished the Clippers inside, scoring 46 points inside the paint. Clippers did some damage as well, 38 points, but they couldn't overcome the lack of boardwork and their mistakes.
Rudy Gay led the Grizz with 21 points while Chris Paul led the Clippers with 29 points.
And, yes, the kid likes it that Memphis won.
