You never want to read too much into early season games, but it is impossible to deny that some mean more than others. Last week’s showdown between the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder meant something. Similarly, last night’s battle between the Los Angeles Clippers and Spurs meant something, too.
L.A. ultimately won that one 106-84.
Blake Griffin led all scorers 22 points (plus 10 rebounds), and DeAndre Jordan pitched in 20 points (plus 11 rebounds) as well. Balance was the story of the night for the winning squad, though, with seven players ultimately finishing in double figures.
Danny Green led the way for San Antonio with 12 points. Tim Duncan, the only other player to score in double figures, finished with 10.
