This was something of an odd game from the very beginning. After one quarter, the Los Angeles Clippers held a slim seven point lead. Then, in the second, they absolutely destroyed the Portland Trail Blazers and it looked as though it was a wrap for the home team. In the third, inexplicably, Portland fought back and erased everything Los Angeles had done in the second. And then, in the fourth, balance was restored and the Clippers regained control of the game.
Somehow, despite all the runs, this wasn’t an especially entertaining outing.
Jamal Crawford led all scorers with 25 points off the bench for the Clippers. Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan pitched in 21 points apiece, too.
Nicolas Batum led the Blazers with 23 points on six-of-18 shooting. LaMarcus Aldridge had an off night as well, putting up 14 points on seven-of-17 shooting.
