According to Mike O'Hara of Fox Sports, the Detroit Lions will be featured in their first Monday Night Football (MNF) game in 10 years next season when they take on the Chicago Bears on October 10.
While the actual status of next season remains up in the air, the league has decided to move forward with announcing the NFL schedule for 2011. And while the official schedules won’t be released until 7:00 p.m. eastern time, plenty of the more highly anticipated games have already leaked through various channels.
Detroit, of course, hasn’t been part of a Monday Night Football event in a decade. In fact, the last time the team even had a primetime TV game -- not including the traditional Thanksgiving outings -- was when they were defeated by the St. Louis Rams at the Pontiac Silverdome in 2001.
