In a season that wasn’t filled with too many surprises (on the field), the naming of Heisman Trophy finalists didn’t prove to be much different.

Auburn quarterback Cam Newton leads the pack after a stellar season highlighted by his dominant SEC title game this past Saturday. During his team’s victory over South Carolina, Newton accounted for six touchdowns en route to the easy win. On the year, he put up 48 total touchdowns and only six interceptions.

Joining Newton are Boise State quarterback Kellen Moore, Oregon running back LaMichael James and Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck.

Oregon’s James, the leading rusher in the country will face off against Newton in the BCS National Championship game on January 10 in a battle of unbeatens. On the year, the speedy back obliterated opposing defenses to the tune of 1,702 yards, 21 touchdowns and led his team to an average of over 49 points per game.

For their part, both Moore and Luck led their respective teams to 11-1 records.
