Ben & Jerry's, a popular ice-cream brand in America, now offers a new limited edition fudgy and nutty chocolate ice cream flavor, which is named “Pecan Resist,” and is also known as an Anti-Trump campaign by the said store brand.
All proceeds of the said ice-cream flavor will go to the activist groups that resist the Trump Administration.
It can be recalled that Ben & Jerry's have been previously involved in multiple political issues since their opening in their 40-year history in 1985. Since then, the Ben & Jerry's Foundation had been supporting various activist groups and community services such as the Rock the Vote movement and the Black Lives Matter movement.
The company announced just last Tuesday about the release of their new ice-cream flavor, which was going to be a limited batch. The new flavor featured multiple toppings such as fudge chunks, pecans, walnuts, and fudge-covered almonds, all enveloped in cold chocolate ice cream.
Ben & Jerry's “Pecan Resist” also shares the name of their current campaign against Trump, where they aim to peacefully protest against the US president’s administration.
The four organizations in partnership with the company are also named which are the groups “Color of Change” that aims to fight racial injustice to the people of color, “Honor the Earth” in support for America’s Native environmental issues, “Neta” for awareness of the Texas-Mexico border, as well as the “Women’s March” in support for women’s political power.
According to the ice-cream company’s official statement, it says:
"[We] cannot be silent in the face of President Trump’s policies that attack and attempt to roll back decades of progress on racial and gender equity, climate change, LGBTQ rights, and refugee and immigrant rights – all issues that have been at the core of the company’s social mission for 40 years."
