A video posted to YouTube (shown below) about a month ago by a user named Illumiseen points out a practical, and sometimes necessary, use of the extra hole in athletic shoes.
Most training shoes have an extra lace hole that is ignored or concealed so many people do not even realize it is there. However, with many people experiencing pain and blisters while wearing athletic shoes, Illumiseen pointed out that the hole has a functional purpose, The Blaze reorts.
By using a technique described in the video below, people should experience decreased rubbing and blisters. Utilizing the extra lace hole can create a firmer and tighter fit, which prevents any movement inside the shoe.
