Woman Walks Dog While Driving, Outrage Follows (Video)

An unidentified woman was caught on video walking her dog while driving her car in Stockton, California, April 24 (video below).

Amanda Brajkovich, who filmed the incident, told KTXL: "If you're going to be a dog owner, a responsible dog owner, then you need to get out and walk your dog, you know, don't be lazy."

Brajkovich was outraged and posted the video on Facebook (user name Manda Rene) and wrote: "Omg I am beyond pissed right now!!!! over by Louis park turned down some street idk the name of! I called the police!"

In the video, Brajkovich pulls up next to the dog owner's car and says, "Hi, is there a reason why you're dragging your dog by a rope out of your car door while you're driving?"

"He wasn't being dragged," the dog owner responds. "I was watching his leash, there was no tension."

Brajkovich tells the dog owner that she heard the canine yelp, but the dog owner says that she was yelling at Brajkovich to use her turn signal.

Brajkovich tells the dog owner not to walk her dog like that because it is "messed up" and "cruelty."

The dog owner insists that her dog was not being dragged and drives off (with the dog running beside the car) as Brajkovich says she's going to report her.

"My first thought was, 'Oh my god this dog is going to get hurt, maybe a car's going to go past him and hit him,'" Brajkovich told KTXL.

The Stockton Police Department reviewed the video and stated, "At this point it appears there was no animal cruelty," but added that if a cop had been there, "the driver would have been cited for distracted driving."

"Like even if it wasn't hurting the dog, you're taking the chance of somebody else hurting your dog," Brajkovich responded.

Brajkovich said she wants to "give people more courage to actually stand up and say something and speak for the animals who can't speak for themselves."

KTXL was unsuccessful in contacting the dog owner.
