A comedian at a Chicago bar was shocked to discover a two-way mirror looking out at a toilet in the women’s bathroom.
Comedian Tamale Rocks said she was performing at Chicago bar Cigars and Stripes when she noticed a mirror facing her from the toilet in the women’s bathroom.
“Behind me is a full length mirror,” she said in a video (below) that exposed the bar’s disturbing secret. “That full length mirror is opposite of the lady’s toilet.
“The lady’s toilet — opposite of the full length mirror — may not appear weird to some people, but paranoid jerks like myself were a little confused as to why that might be there. To check a dress? Perhaps. To watch a panty line? Maybe. Let’s take a peek at what really lies behind it.”
The woman then opened a door and walked into a closet filled with cleaning supplies. She then panned the camera over to the back of a door, which had a giant hole in it that looked directly out to the toilet in the bathroom.
“Here you will see the back of the door cut out,” she said, “and a clear view of the toilet that comedians relieve themselves in at this establishment.”
When Jezebel got word of the video, contributor Karyn Polewaczyk reached out to Cigars and Stripes owner Ronnie Lotz for comment. Lotz reportedly acknowledged proudly that the two-way mirror existed.
“We have a two-way mirror in there, yes,” he said. “We’ve had it since 2001.”
Lotz went on to claim that the comedian was simply looking for a viral video, and that the mirror was not intrusive on women who used the bathroom.
“I will burn this f****** place to the ground before I get rid of that mirror. Do you know how much joy that mirror has brought to us?” he said. “We’re synonymous with Halloween. We do a freaky family fun day, and all the kids look in the mirror. This is a fun house, honey, and if you don’t like the two-way mirror, go f*** yourself.”
Watch the video below. Do you think the bar should be allowed to keep the two-way mirror?
