Woman Finds Hidden Treasure Inside A Clam (Video)

The video of a woman opening up a clam to find hidden treasure inside has captivated many worldwide (video below).

In the YouTube video uploaded by user Robin_Deepthi, an unidentified woman can be seen struggling for at least a full minute to open up the clam with a knife.

When she finally manages to open it up, she discovers multiple pearls inside, shocking many.

“I grew up on the water and have opened my fair share of mollusks in search of the shiny gems. But, in my 28 years on the coast, I've never cracked open a pearl-bearing shell,” writes Amanda Black for ViralNova. “This woman is clearly far more lucky than I am.”

What makes this an even more unusual find is that clams don’t usually produce pearls.

“Oysters produce these precious, iridescent stones,” reads the caption under the video.

“Clams and mussels can also produce this precious stone, but not as frequent as oysters do,” the note added. “Imagine then this woman’s surprise when she opened a giant clam and found not just one pearl inside, but perhaps more than a dozen! What a very lucky girl indeed.”

It’s not the first time a woman accidentally stumbled upon a pearl inside a clam, ABC News reports.

A woman in Washington, Lindsay Hasz, nearly ate and swallowed a purple pearl while on a "a rare date night without the kids" at an Italian restaurant in February 2016.

"I felt like I almost broke my tooth when I first bit it," she said laughingly. "It was pretty dark in the restaurant, so it was hard to tell what it was, but when I looked at it closer, it looked totally round and perfect. Too perfect."

What’s more, it wasn’t just any pearl, it was a rare Quahog pearl, and it was worth $600.

The restaurant owners, Fernando and Cindy Nardone, said they were excited by the find.

"We only serve the finest for our customers," Fernando said, while Cindy added, "Coming to our restaurant is like winning the lottery!"
