After a mother shared her frustration and disappointment about the turnout for her young son's birthday party, an online community came together to help her son have the birthday celebration he deserves.
Rachelle Briannan of Melbourne, Australia, posted in a Facebook group called Midnight Mums, an online community representing Australian mothers . She explained that her son Taenon's 4th birthday party was supposed to be in full swing, but that none of the 12 children invited had shown up. All of the other mothers had either canceled or failed to respond to the invitation.
The message apparently touched the hearts of many of the other mothers in the group and within minutes of posting, 25 mothers and fathers in the Melbourne area had driven their children to McDonald's to help Taenon celebrate his birthday, according to Daily Mail.
The day was quickly turned around as Taenon was joined by nearly 30 children he had never met before. Veronica's Party Pantry even donated helium balloons. Emergency services came by to let the children explore the trucks.
"The Midnight Mums community rallied together online with hundreds of birthday wishes for Taenon flooding our newsfeeds and touching the hearts of our members with this feel good story right across Australia and beyond," Midnight Mums wrote in a Facebook post after the party.
