When a man suffered from an alleged heart attack while on a flight from Atlanta to Phoenix, former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow reportedly comforted his family and escorted them to the hospital.

On June 26, a man suffered from heart problems while on a Delta flight to Phoenix. Richard Gotti, a fellow passenger seated a few rows behind the man and his family, recalled the manner in which Delta Airlines and other passengers assisted the ailing man and his loved ones.

"I watched strangers from all over the world and every ethnicity come to the help of this man for over an hour!" Gotti wrote on Facebook. "Whether it was chest compressions, starting an IV, helping breathe life into this man, or praying everyone helped! I listened to shock after shock from the AED machine and still no pulse. No one gave up. […] The crew of Delta Airlines were amazing. They acted in a fast and professional manner!"

During the incident, Tebow reportedly emerged from the first-class section to comfort the family and pray with his fellow passengers.

"He met with the family as they cried on his shoulder!" Gotti wrote. "I watched Tim pray with the entire section of the plane for this man. He made a stand for God in a difficult situation."

Delta Air Lines spokesman Brian Kruse confirmed the medical emergency and lauded the professionalism of the staff.

"We can’t say enough about the Delta professionals who care for our customers every day and we are grateful to our customers who are so often quick to extend kindness and care to one another," Kruse told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, as reported by US Magazine.

After the landing, Tebow helped the family by picking up their luggage and using his private to escort them to the hospital, as reported by People Magazine. He waited at the hospital until they were told the man had died later that day.

Gotti’s post has been shared over 9,000 times in two days. In a comment, he thanked everyone who worked to try to save the heart attack victim and comfort his family.

"I again want to praise and thank the wonderful passengers and crew who stepped in and provided this gentleman with medical care for over an hour," Gotti wrote. "I also want to thank Tim Tebow. God has given you a platform to stand on to share your faith by example, and you truly live what you speak!"
