Dog Saves Baby From Abusive Babysitter (Video)

A dog has touched the hearts of people all over after he saved a baby from an abusive babysitter in South Carolina (video below).

The parents, Benjamin and Hope Jordan, had hired 21-year-old Alexis Khan to babysit their son, Finn, Hero Viral reports.

“We felt like Alexis was a good fit at the time,” Benjamin explained, WCSC reports.

The babysitter's background check came back squeaky clean.

Only Killian, the family dog, knew what was happening behind closed doors, causing him to growl and exhibit other unusual behaviors.

“About five months into her being our babysitter we started noticing that our dog was very defensive of our son whenever she would come in the door,” Benjamin said. “He was very aggressive towards her and a few times we had to actually physically restrain our dog from going toward her.”

Growing suspicious, the Jordans decided to take action.

By hiding an iPhone under the couch to secretly record audio of the babysitter while they were at work, the parents hoped they would find out what was really going on.

Much to their horror, the camera captured exactly what they had feared.

The child’s cries can be heard while Khan yells, “Shut the f*** up.” She then begins slapping the baby.

“I just wanted to reach through the audiotape, go back in time and just grab him up,” Benjamin said. "For five months I had handed my child to a monster.”

Khan was eventually arrested and found guilty of the charges and handed a sentence of one to three years in prison. She has also been added to a child abuse registry, which forbids her from ever working with children again.

“That is fantastic news for us to know that maybe Finn’s ordeal has possibly saved another child’s life in the future,” Benjamin said, adding that he is grateful to his dog.

“Had our dog not alerted us to the trouble, had my wife’s instincts not said we need to make something happen, it could have been Finn [who had lost his life],” he added.
