A video of a good Samaritan giving a freezing homeless man the shirt off his back has gone viral.
The video (below) was posted on Facebook by Lazaro Nolasco, who captured the moment while riding the A train in New York City on Jan. 8, the NY Daily News reported.
“It was just us on the train,” Nolasco told the Daily News. “The guy didn’t have a shirt on. His body looked sick.”
The footage shows a man identified only as “Jay” giving a shirtless man the shirt off his back. The man appears to be trembling as Jay helps him put the shirt on.
Jay didn’t stop there. Left with only a tank top, he is seen giving the homeless man a hat to keep his head warm.
Nolasco, 21, said he heard Jay ask the man if he wanted to go to the hospital. The homeless man said yes.
It is unclear where Jay and the homeless man ended up that night. Nolasco got off the train at the following station.
Nolasco’s video has garnered more than 12 million views since it was uploaded on Facebook.
“The guy did a good deed, so I wanted to record it,” Nolasco added. “I would tell him, ‘God bless him.’ That was thoughtful.”
