Teen Speaks Out About Sexual Harassment By Manager (Photo)

After two years of being harassed in the workplace, an 18-year-old Chili's employee came clean.

According to BuzzFeed, Emily Houser began working at Chili's in Whitehall, Pennsylvania, when she was 16 years old. Shortly after her employment began, the location hired a new general manager, Josh Davidson, who was 24 at the time. It would take two years until Houser came clean about what went on between the two during her employment.

Recently, Houser opened up about the harassment she faced at the workplace. Throughout both of their times at the local restaurant, Davidson pursued Houser to the point of discomfort, Houser explained.

"Over a two-year period, it just kind of escalated into him providing me with gifts of significance and money and flowers and cards and things that I wasn’t really accepting of, things that made me extremely uncomfortable because I was not sure what he expected of me from these gifts," she said.

On April 26, 2016, when Houser turned 18, the nonconsensual relationship between the two began to escalate beyond its already bad state, with Davidson bombarding Houser in front of her peers with flowers, insisting she be his girlfriend.

Houser rejected, yet Davidson persisted.

A few months after her birthday, Davidson reportedly showed up at Houser's home at 2:30 in the morning and attempted to gift Houser with a card filled with hundreds of dollars -- which she rejected due to her established disinterest in the relationship.

According to Houser, after this encounter, Davidson started "being verbally and even physically weird and abusive towards me at work."

In the state of Pennsylvania, under Executive Order 2002-4, sexual harassment is clearly defined as "unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and/or other verbal, visual, or physical conduct of a sexual nature" that could unreasonably interfere with an individual's work performance or create an uncomfortable or hostile work environment.

Doing so is a violation of federal and state law.

Houser finally spoke up about the situation when she noticed Davidson directing his sexual interests toward a new, young female employee.

After two years, Houser filed her two weeks notice and reported her experiences with Davidson to the Chili's Corporate Headquarters. Rather than being fired, Davidson was moved to a new location in Montgomery, Pennsylvania.

His going-away party turned into a shaming party, with a white sheet cake emblazoned with "F*** Emily Houser." Houser's coworkers posted photos from the party on Instagram in support of Josh, calling Houser "petty" and using the hashtag "#teamjosh."

Since these photos were posted, Davidson has been fired from his new job in Montgomery and those Instagram accounts have been removed.

In response to the allegations and investigation, Chili's issued a statement to BuzzFeed, saying, "We do not condone and are disappointed by the actions that took place. When this issue surfaced, our franchise partner conducted a thorough investigation."

Houser is relieved knowing that Davidson has lost his job and can no longer do to others what he did to her.

She has reportedly not spoken with her old coworkers since.
