ABC-TV will reportedly not allow two men to dance close together on the hit TV show "Dancing With the Stars."
Unidentified sources told TMZ that a gay singer, Who Is Fancy, will perform his song "Boys Like You" on Nov. 23 with Ariana Grande and Meghan Traino.
Who Is Fancy's choreographer reportedly emailed a producer on the TV show about how it would "be an awesome look to have 2 males dancing with each other" during the song, which is about one man falling for another man.
However, a producer emailed the choreographer back, "Apologies all but this is a definitive no from the network," according to the gossip site.
ABC-TV will reportedly allow "near dancing," which would be similar to the performance by pro dancers Alek Skarlatos and Carlos PenaVega during part of a group routine to “We Will Rock You” on the Nov. 9 broadcast (video below).
The network would not comment, but a source told TMZ, "Creative conversations are ongoing about the dance number."
ABC-TV has been pressured for years to have a minority or gay man on "The Bachelor," Business Insider reports.
However, Juan Pablo Galavis, the first minority man on the show, was slammed for the many controversial remarks that he made, which included saying that a gay man could not be on the reality romance show.
Scripted series on the network such as "Modern Family" and "Quantico" have featured men kissing.
