Police Investigating Ariana Grande's Alleged Donut Licking (Video)

Singer Ariana Grande's alleged donut-licking incident is under investigation by police and health officials.

A surveillance video (below) of the incident at Wolfee Donuts, located in Lake Elsinore, California, was leaked to TMZ earlier this week.

In the same video, Grande reportedly says, "What [expletive] is that? I hate Americans. I hate America."

Along with the police, Riverside County public health officials are investigating the incident, which appears to show Grande licking more than one donut, notes the Associated Press.

Mayra Solis, a cashier at the donut shop, told CBS Los Angeles "She was just like really rude to me."

Solis claimed that Grande also requested a donut professional.

Joe Marin, who owns Wolfee Donuts, said: "One of the trays, yeah, she was licking on them, but the other trays, she spit on them."

Marin claims that his "A" health grade was downgraded by the health department to a "B" one day after the video leaked.

Dottie Ellis-Merki, of the Riverside County Department of Environmental Health, told the Associated Press that the department wants to know why the donuts were exposed to the public, which violates California food laws.

On Wednesday, Grande said in a statement posted on Twitter:

I am EXTREMELY proud to be an American and I've always made it clear that I love my country. What I said in a private moment with my friend, who was buying the doughnuts, was taken out of context and I am sorry for not using more discretion with my choice of words.

It's not clear how Grande was taken out of context, but she later turned her apology into a lecture on health and education:

The fact that the United States has one of the highest child obesity rates in the world frustrates me. We need to do more to educate ourselves and our children about the dangers of overeating and the poison that we put into our bodies. However I should have known better in how I expressed myself; and with my new responsibility to others as a public figure I will strive to be better.
