Pole Impales Minivan, Almost Kills Girl

A car crash in Coral Springs, Florida, nearly led to the death of a toddler in the car, as a pole went through the windshield and passenger side and only very narrowly missed the toddler who was strapped inside.

"I don't even want to think about it," mother Besayda Sosa said to WPLG. She said that she never even saw the pole coming.

Police say that Sosa lost control of her vehicle on Monday morning, according to the Sun Sentinel.

"She lost control for a couple of seconds, veered north and there's a metal fence," according to Coral Springs Detective Ernesto Bruna.

On Facebook, the Coral Springs Fire Department posted:

"This has to be the close call of the year. The pole was inches away from striking the child sitting in the safety seat."

Sosa's 4-year-old daughter, Khloe, said that her mom screamed when the pole came into the vehicle.

"She screamed at me [and] she was starting to cry," Khloe said.

Khloe was ultimately taken to the hospital for a small cut on her forehead, as a precautionary measure.

"[The police] said I'm brave," she added.
