Video of a young man singing in his car, and then getting into a serious accident, has gone viral (video below).
The short 26-second clip was shot by the driver, Travis Carpenter, and later uploaded to YouTube.
In the video, Carpenter sings for roughly 10 seconds before losing control of his car and letting out a frightened shriek. The car then appears to roll over and slide down a hill. When it comes to a stop, Carpenter looks around briefly before reaching forward and turning off the camera.
He provides some context in the video's description.
"I was traveling from Indianapolis to Whitewater, WI for a practice weekend with Machine Ultimate," he explains, adding, "I travel the 3-4 hours by myself every time and use singing as a way to pass time, and critique it later."
"I was watching the road and saw nothing that caused me to worry," he continues. "Simply hydroplaned in a heavy rain. My car slid sideways, and then was completely backwards by the time I slid off the road and went down a small hill. I hit a mile marker sign (230) on my way off the road."
Miraculously, Carpenter came away unscathed, and his car suffered only cosmetic damage.
"Here are two of the most amazing parts: I sustained NO injuries. Not even a scratch," he writes. "And my car took NO mechanical damage and is completely driveable. Only body damage."
The video was posted to YouTube on Oct. 20 and has since been viewed over 230,000 times.
It was also shared on Reddit, where it has garnered more than 3,500 comments.
The thread's top comment reads: "If he'd kept singing as if nothing was happening, he would've been an instant tv sensation."
"I hope if I have a death moment like this, my scream is better," another user wrote.
